O eclipse ser\u00e1 visto como parcial na parte sul da Am\u00e9rica do Sul, no oceano Atl\u00e2ntico, parte extremo oeste da \u00c1frica e Ant\u00e1rtica. Assim, grande parte do Brasil, incluindo toda a regi\u00e3o sul, sudeste, grande parte do nordeste e centro-oeste, poder\u00e1 ver o eclipse como parcial, entre 11 e 12h30, hor\u00e1rio de Bras\u00edlia. A observa\u00e7\u00e3o somente pode ser feita com instrumentos especiais usados por astr\u00f4nomos ou com t\u00e9cnica de proje\u00e7\u00e3o. Nunca se deve olhar diretamente para sol nem mesmo com o uso de filme de raio-x, \u00f3culos escuros ou outro material caseiro. A exposi\u00e7\u00e3o, mesmo de poucos segundos, danifica o olho de modo irrevers\u00edvel. Ainda este ano, em 21 de agosto, haver\u00e1 eclipse total do Sol.
